FAIRBORN - H. Carol Long, age 60 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2015. She was born December 10, 1954 in Troy, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Helen (Brooks) Ratliff. Carol served as president and general manager of Long Cleaners, Inc. alongside her husband for many years. She was an influential and integral part of the garment and textile industry; specializing in wedding and heirloom gowns as a Web-Re-Stor licensee, as well as several other aspects of the business. Carol was a member of the Miami Valley Cleaners Guild, the Ohio Cleaners Association, the National Cleaners Association, and the Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce where she had served on the Ambassador Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Kramer; brother, Marvin Ratliff; and stepdaughter, Laura Riley. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Larry; two children, Tom (Colleen) Perry, Amanda Lynch; two step-children, Richard Kyle (Missy) Long, Polly (Tim) Smith; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Marissa, Mila, Merah, Brayden, Tara, Lane, Krue, Kale, Megan, T.J., Cameron, Lyla, Sopheya, Summer; two sisters, Sarah (Terry Wright) Hudson, Barbara Harding; a brother, Fred Allen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A sincere thank you is extended to the staff of Hospice of Dayton, especially Jenni, Leigha, Jennifer Bloom-Long and Dr. Cass for the exceptional, loving care they provided. The family will receive friends on Monday June 22, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 10:30 A.M., Pastor John Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairfield Cemetery.
