XENIA — Herschel Eugene "Gene" Rinehart, 91, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital South. He retired from Super Valu as a truck driver after 44 years and was proud of his 4 million mile driving record without an accident. He is survived by his children, Bob (Ruth) Rinehart, and Jim (Lynn) Rinehart, of Waterloo, SC, Bruce (Sue) Rinehart, Columbus, Rick (Melinda) Rinehart, Bill (Julie) Rinehart, and Mark (Melissa) Rinehart, all of Xenia, grandchildren, Jeff (Angela) Rinehart, Mike (Mandy) Rinehart, Amy Rinehart, Aaron (Erin) Rinehart, Kegan (Tyler) Johnson, Tara (Jason) Wilson, Teah (Ken) Brandt, Jimmy (Allison) Rinehart, Michelle Rinehart, Evan Rinehart, Emily (Nick) Smith, and Ian Rinehart, great-grandchildren, Allison, Abigail, Nathan, Brandon, Luke, Kylee, Autumn, Emma, Ava, and Cayne, two great-great-grandsons, Grayson and Gryffin, a brother, Gary (Linda) Rinehart, Wilmington, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lena Rinehart, his wife, Leora Jean Rinehart, on August 24, 2022, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rinehart, by a brother, and two sisters. Gene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, March 29, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Friday until service time. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Quaker Heights Assisted Living, 514 High St., Waynesville, OH, 45068, in his memory.
