SIDNEY — Jack Edward Rickert, 97, died Feb. 8, 2023. He was born in Sidney, Ohio, and moved to this area in 1983 from Port Huron, Michigan. Jack was a television repair man, and served in the Army Air Force. He was also a member of the SPEBSQSA (Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.) Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel in 1988 and his son Jack Jr. (JR) in 2022. He is survived by daughters, Sue Rickert, Robin Jaros, and Sheri Churches; Sons, Tom McNutt and Scott McNutt; Niece, Kim Dorhan and nephew, Monty Babbitt. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Donations may be made in his memory to The Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Nashville, Tenn.
