Jane McVey Obituary

XENIA — B. Jane McVey, 96, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Liberty Nursing Center. She was born April 21, 1918, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the daughter of Frank W. and Esta Confer Kendig. She was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church, the Aldora Chapter #262, O.E.S., Xenia Republican Women's Club, and was a graduate of Cedarville College. She retired as a teacher with the Xenia and Dayton City Schools. She is survived by a sister, Louise Jones, Beavercreek, and by many close friends, including two special friends, Pam Dean and Ruby Rector. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George W. McVey, a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Mark King, a brother-in-law, Wilfred D. Jones, and by a nephew, Frank Jones. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 10am, Monday, June 9, at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, with Rev. Kelley W. Shin officiating. There will be no visitation. Contributions may be made to Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill Rd., Xenia, OH, 45385, or to a favorite charity, in her memory.
