BEAVERCREEK — Jean Lee Harshman, lifelong resident of Greene County, passed away at her family farm on July 2, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Dayton on New Year's Eve, 1929 to John and Ethel Burtch. She met the love of her life, Jonathan 'Doc' Warner Harshman, at Beavercreek High School, and they married in 1948. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Charles) Bush, grandchildren Laura (Erik) Filson, Lisa (Robert) Wall, Kathryn Bush (John Hendrikse), Susanne Bush (Gonzalo Tarditto) and her great-grandchildren, Samantha and Danielle Filson, John Wall, and Agustín and Gabriel Tarditto. Jean will be remembered lovingly by Victor Whisman, Michele Harshman and Carrie Cooper. She joins her husband Johnny, daughter Constance, son John, and granddaughter Lydia in eternal rest. Jean was a beloved member of the Beaver United Church of Christ. She leaves a legacy of love, faith, and spirited card playing to her family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society to commemorate her lifelong love of animals. A service was held Thursday, July 6 at Beaver United Church of Christ, 1960 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. McColaugh Funeral Home has been entrusted with her services.
