XENIA — Kenneth L. Beason, 89, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Xenia Health and Rehab. He was born May 9, 1933, in Greene County, Ohio, the son of Marion and Ruby Lynch Beason. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, and retired as a firefighter with the Xenia Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Ann (Hazelau) Beason, children, Cheryl Messmore, Cincinnati, and Mark (Danita) Beason, Xenia, grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Hedger, Stacy (John) Skeeters, Kathryn Griffin (Adam Stone), and Daniel Griffin (Autumn Perry), great-grandchildren, Madison Hedger, Hunter Goslant, Brody Hedger, Garrett Woodson, Kinley Hedger, and Wyatt Griffin, and by a great-great-granddaughter due soon, a brother, Ronald (Rebecca) Beason, Xenia, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Robert Messmore, and by a brother, Robert M. Beason. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 6077 Far Hills Ave., #117, Dayton, OH, 45459, in his memory.
