XENIA — Mary Lou McClelland, 94, of Xenia, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at Friends Care Center, Yellow Springs. She was born October 22, 1927, in Ilion, New York, the daughter of Edwin and Ruth Marlay Haag. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church. She is survived by sons, Robert Andrew (Charlotte) McClelland, Maryville, TN, Michael W. (Jane) McClelland, Xenia, daughters, Marianne Cox, Dublin, Sara McClelland, Tybee Island, GA, and Barbara "Bambi" (Brad) Middlebrooks, Xenia, six grandchildren, Jessica (James) Freeman, Emily (Josh) Anders, Tyler (Erin) Cox, Rachel (Walt) Lowe, Bryan Middlebrooks, and Sarah (Brandon) Reed, three step-grandchildren, Candy Navarre, Kendall Ford, and Jenabe Ford, eight great-grandchildren, Wheeler, Mackenzie, Wyatt, Ryker, Lucy, Liam, Nora, and Weston, two step-great-grandchildren, Cherelle Navarre and C.J. Navarre, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Robert L. McClelland, on August 14, 2000, a son-in-law, Dennis Cox, and by a brother, Robert Haag. Mary Lou will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, February 16, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Andy Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm Wednesday until service time. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, or to Shriners Children's Hospital, One Children's Plaza, 2 West, Dayton, OH, 45404, in her memory.
