XENIA — Matthew Richard Benson, age 39, of Xenia, OH, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father: Richard L. Benson; aunt and uncle: Mr. and Mrs. Harlis Sheets; and half sister: Kimberly M. Dell. He is survived by his mother: Linda (Sheets) Benson; sister: Andrea Benson; half sister: Dianna Alliod; brother-in-law: Michael Dell; niece: Diane Stephenson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Matthew was a crew member at the Xenia McDonald's restaurant on Main St., Burger King and Nick's. He enjoyed working out at the YMCA and singing karaoke at Nick's. He was a beloved member of the Daysprings Ministries Church in Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held Monday 6 PM at the Daysprings Ministries Church, 3182 Rodenbeck Drive, Xenia, OH with Pastor Ken Day officiating. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service at the church Monday starting at 5 PM. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.mccolaughfuneralhome.com. i met matthew many years ago singing karaoke. He always had a room smiling/laughing at his karaoke songs. His infectious smile will be missed by so many. Prayers to the family
