XENIA — Norma L. Armstrong Hicks, age 92, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Trinity Community at Beavercreek, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. She was born in Persinger, Nicholas County, West Virginia, on October 23, 1931, to the late John D. and Greatha E. Rader Armstrong. Norma grew up in Summersville, West Virginia, and after graduating from Nicholas County High School, she worked as a Clerk in the office of the Nicholas County, West Virginia Sheriff. She later took a Secretarial course at the Jefferson School of Commerce. Ten years later, Norma's interests changed and she graduated from the Charleston (West Virginia) Beauty Academy. She was working in a Beauty Salon when she met her future husband, Don. Norma also worked at Xenia (later Society) National Bank for eleven years. Norma enjoyed collecting dolls and devoted an entire room in her home to her extensive collection. She and Don also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She occasionally accompanied Don, who was an avid hunter, on one of his numerous hunting trips. Norma attended the Church of Christ in Waynesville, Ohio. Norma is survived by her beloved sister, Phala Armstrong Mullens of Beaver, West Virginia; niece, Cynthia Mullens of Grafton, West Virginia; nephew, William (Susan) Mullens; great nephew, Chase Mullens and great niece, Emily Mullens, all of Flat Top, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Marie Hicks Spencer; nephew, Larry R. Spencer; great nephews, Jeremy (Meghan) Spencer and Jason (Cherie) Spencer; great-great niece, Gabriella Spencer; great-great nephews, Drew and Jonah Spencer, all of Salem,Virginia; close cousins, Omalee (Ernie) Agnor and Angela (Ronald) George of Xenia, Ohio, and their families. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am.
