XENIA — Russell L. "Russ" Baldwin, age 66, of Bowersville, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at Soin Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1958 in Xenia the son of George W. and Anna E. (Chapman) Baldwin. In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brother: Thomas Schroeder. He was a dedicated employee of the Elano Corp., retiring in 2020, but was currently working there part-time. Russ graduated from Greeneview High School, Class of 1977 and proudly joined the US Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, Russ was stationed in various countries including Italy and Germany, served in Desert Storm and especially enjoyed being in Alaska. He was a Fuel Supervisor, earning the rank of Staff Sgt. He continued his service to fellow veterans by being part of the Eagle Riders. He was a very hard worker. He loved nurturing his Walnut and Oak trees that he had planted on his land for the benefit of the next generation. He was a member and former trustee of the FOE, 1689 Aerie and the Xenia Moose Lodge. He loved to dance and was humorously referred to as "Happy Hips." Russ was a dedicated father and never missed an activity. Russ is survived by his son: James (Sarah) Baldwin of Bowersville; grandchildren: Jacoby, Jackson, Sophia and Jasper Baldwin; brother: Douglas A. Baldwin of Fairborn; his twin sister: Ruth Lynn (Terry) Kratzer of Cedarville; special friends: Diane Schnell and Donnie Lovett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A gathering for friends to celebrate his life will begin at 3:30 PM Monday, May 5th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Services including Military honors will begin at 4:30 PM with representatives from the FOE #1689 officiating the service. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.mccolaughfuneralhome.com.
