SPRING VALLEY — Ruth A. Bonecutter, 91, of Spring Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2018. She passed away at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born November 22, 1926 in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Virgil and Leva Marie (Hayslip) Melvin. Ruth is survived by two sons, Sherman "Rocky" (Kristine) Bonecutter, and Brett (Tina) Bonecutter, all of Spring Valley; five granddaughters: Melissa (Nathan) White, Andrea (Nick) Seitz, Toni (Dave) Lamka, Stefanie (Eric) Moffitt and Leslie (Michael) Osborne, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Melvin and Naomi Melvin, several nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her two brothers, Donald and Robert Melvin. Ruth met the love of her life, Sherman Bonecutter Jr. at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base hospital where he was a patient. They later married on October 5, 1951. Junior and Ruth shared 43 wonderful years together before he passed on July 15, 1994. She retired after 38 years as Chief Deputy Clerk of Courts of Greene County. She enjoyed shopping, decorating her home and spending time with her family. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to Legacy Village staff for taking such good care of her for the last three months. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21 from 6-8 pm at Neeld Funeral Home, located at 1276 N. Detroit St. Xenia, Ohio. Services will take place on Friday, June 22, at 10 am at Neeld Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Nathan White. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 Whipp Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45459, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com
