XENIA — Soni Elizabeth Shaw, age 48, of Xenia, was greeted in Heaven by her Lord Sunday, July 7, 2024. She was born December 22, 1975 in Kettering, Ohio the daughter of David Joe and Rhonda Jean (Boggs) May. Soni spent her life as a dedicated wife, loving mother and adoring Lolli, creating a home full of love and happy memories. She was always present for her family, supporting them at their activities and eager to laugh with friends. Soni graduated from Xenia High School, Class of 1995. She attended Home Church and was not shy about sharing her love for Jesus. She loved spending her Sundays praising the Lord and cheering on her beloved Cleveland Browns. She also had a permanent spot at Long's Retreat, where she enjoyed camping with her family. She spent many happy vacations with her friends in Nashville. Soni loved singing, especially 1990's country songs and had the ultimate crush on Alan Jackson and Steven Tyler. She relished being in the sun and sitting pool side. Her larger than life personality and enormous smile will be missed by all. Soni is survived by the love of her life and soulmate, Jack E. Shaw, Jr. whom she married March 3, 2002; her parents, David Joe and Rhonda Jean May; children: Hannah (Matt) Couch of Xenia; Ayla (Lucas) Daniel of South Vienna; Jack E. Shaw III (Sage) of Cedarville; and Gabriel Shaw (Mady Ackerman) of Xenia; grandchildren: Shaw Wayne, Jonni and Andi Couch, Beau and Porter Daniel, Jack E. Shaw IV; sister and lifelong best friend: Nichole (Randy) Craft of Xenia; brother: Jason (Tricia) May of Newport, KY; uncle: Jerry Boggs and aunt: Sonya May (Derek) Rice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives. Soni is also survived by numerous friends, including her best friends: Parker (Nathan) Baker; Christy (Carl) Southworth and Mandy (Jeff) Lovely. The family would like to acknowledge a special niece, Allivia Clement, who spent countless hours caring for Soni. A service to celebrate Soni's life will be held 1 PM Monday, July 15, 2024 at AHOP, 282 Stelton Road, Xenia with Pastor Chaz Stapleton and Pastor Nathan Funk officiating. Visitation will be held 11 AM Monday until the time of service at the church. She will be interred at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
