SPRING VALLEY — Steven Ray Carroll, age 66, of Spring Valley, Ohio, passed peacefully on July 16, 2025, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on January 14, 1959, to parents, Donald and Judy Carroll. Steven is survived by his father, Donald Carroll; children, Nikia Carroll, Zachary (Ashley) Carroll, and Sara (Greg) Senne; brother, David Lee Carroll; sisters, Lynne Carroll and Christine Carroll; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Carroll; brother, Christopher Carroll; sister, Pam Carroll-Frost; and son, Steven Michael Carroll. Steve was a hardworking individual who dedicated his career to his family business: Don Carroll and Sons Excavating. When riding in the car, he would always proudly point out every place he had worked. In his free time, he enjoyed hobbies such as playing poker, arrowhead hunting, mushroom hunting and curbside shopping. As many would say, "If you need something, ask Steve". He always somehow seemed to have what you needed. Steve loved to hunt arrowheads and couldn't wait to tell you what field he found it in. The best place was a "fresh field" as he called it. Steve will be dearly missed by all who knew him. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Eagles of Xenia, OH, August 1st, 2025, from 5pm-9pm. McColaugh Massie Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.mccolaughfuneralhome.com.
