BEAVERCREEK — Wayne King, 102, of Dayton, Ohio, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and her Heavenly Father on February 14, 2018. She was born on September 4, 1915, in Owingsville, Kentucky, to Thomas Carl Power and Mantha Alice Power. She got her teaching degrees in Home Economics from Transylvania College and Western College in Kentucky. She taught in a 3 room schoolhouse in Kentucky and in the high school in Trotwood, Ohio. She married James King in 1940. She got her Elementary Degree from the University of Dayton. She taught 28 years at Northridge District Schools. Wayne loved teaching and tried to teach her students the love of learning. Wayne loved her family and was extremely proud of all of them. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and baking, especially breads. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James King, sister, Naomi Barnes Reed, brothers-in-law Harold Barnes and Robert Reed; and a son in law, Robert Heller. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Heller of Cedarville, Ohio, granddaughters, April L. (Timothy) Ratliff, Lori L. (Rusty) Myers, four great grandchildren, Jared T. (April) Ratliff of Middletown, T. Hunter Ratliff, Noah R. Myers, and Taylor A. Myers of Cedarville, Ohio. Family survivors also include a niece, Judith K. (Terry) Bernard and grandnephews Matt (Janie) and Jon (Julie) Bernard. A heartfelt thanks to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton where kindness and caring is ever present. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Patterson Park Church, 3655 E. Patterson Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Private burial is at the discretion of the Family. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions of Beavercreek are caring for the family. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
