Cherie Guyette Moran, age 72, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at VITAS Hospice. Formerly of Greene County, TN, Cherie had made Bonita Springs her home since 2000.
She was born on March 10, 1953, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of the late Leslie Dale and Lucille Jean (DuFresne) Guyette. Cherie earned her nursing degree and spent part of her life farming beef and tobacco in Tennessee before relocating to Florida. In Bonita Springs, she became a well-known and much-loved clerk at Ace Hardware, where she worked for many years and built lasting friendships with customers and coworkers alike.
Cherie was a proud member of the VFW and had a zest for life, enjoying visits to casinos and the thrill of gambling. Her warm personality, strength, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her three sons: Ryan Carpenter (Susan Plemons) of Bonita Springs, FL; Josh Carpenter and Kris Carpenter, both of Greeneville, TN; her sister, Susan Riner (Steve) of Granger County, TN; her cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Kaylee Carpenter; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cherie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Moran, and her sister, Laurel Creazzo.
A memorial service to celebrate Cherie's life was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
