Columbus Gene Sauceman, 78 , of Orebank, passed away Sunday at Greeneville Community Hospital East.
He loved his family and church.
He was a member and Sunday school teacher of Whittenburg United Methodist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He worked for Greene County Solid Waste as long as his health permitted.
His world revolved around his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Betsey Sauceman; grandchildren: Kinslee, Tucker, and Mikah Sauceman; a nephew: Daniel Sauceman; a great-nephew: Grayson Sauceman; and special friends: John and Mandy Morris and their children, Jake, Sam, and Isaac.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Flora Sauceman; a daughter: Melissa Sauceman; a brother: Danny Sauceman; and an infant brother.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Whittenburg United Methodist Church with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Whittenburg United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Ann Tobie, 4713 Blue Springs Parkway, Greeneville, TN 37743.
