George "Woody" Johnson Jr.

Born: August 3, 1946 | Died: September 21, 2025

George "Woody" Johnson Jr., age 79, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday morning at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of Lola Draper Johnson and George Woodrow Johnson, Sr.

Woody was a former owner of Service Master Carpet Cleaning in Knoxville. Prior to Service Master, he had been a social worker at Baptist Hospital in Knoxvville and was financial advisor for Prudential.

He was a member of Smithwood Baptist Church and the Red & Green Foundation.

Survivors include his spouse: Stacy Jones; many cousins in Greeneville, and two cousins in Maine.

Special thanks are extended to Steve and Brenda Jones, Dave Morgan, Fred Campbell, Martin and Rosemary Kornreich for all that they have done.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Thursday at Smithwood Baptist Church, 4914 Jacksboro Pike, Knoxville. Funeral services will follow at 6 o'clock Thursday evening at the church with the Rev. Sonny Strange officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Shiloh Cemetery, 1121 Shiloh Road, Greeneville, on Friday at 2 p.m. for the committal service.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
