James Todd Croy, 56, of Summertown, went to his heavenly home Aug. 11.
James was a loving father who had a very calm and quiet personality and loved his family. He was an exceptional hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburg Steelers.
James was the owner of Croy's Cabins & Hunting Lodge of Baileyton, and recently retired from the funeral industry and taxidermy business.
James was preceded in death by his daughter: Heather Danielle Croy; his parents: Charles and Elva Croy; a brother-in-law: Carl Reed; and a cousin: Kenny Reed.
James is survived by his son: Matthew Croy and his wife, Ashley, of Baileyton; Matthew's mother: Lisa Johnson; a special daughter: Sienna Roderick, her mother, Janel Croy, of Arizona; and four grandchildren that he loved unconditionally: Bailey, Emory, Skylar, and Adelynn.
He is also survived by his sister: Debbie Reed of Greeneville; brothers: Dwight Croy and his wife, Carol, of Kentucky; and Mark Croy of Dayton Beach, Florida; his father-in-law: Phil Gaddis; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and long-time hunting buddy: David Crock.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Hartmans Church Cemetery in Mosheim. Dwight Croy will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to meet at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown Greeneville, at 10 a.m. to travel with funeral possession.
Committal services will follow.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
