Born: February 21, 1931 | Died: October 9, 2025
Kathryn McDaniel Keicher, age 94, of Midway, passed away at 11:13 p.m. Thursday at Johnson City Medical Center.
Kathy was a housewife, mother, grandmother, and a retired bus driver from the Greene County School System. She was a member of Bibles Chapel Baptist Church.
At 94, Kathy was proud to still be able to attend church and other functions. She was loved and blessed by her Heart Sisters, the Thursday morning Coffee and Devotional Group, and her church family. In years past, she was very active with the Midway Ruritan Club and Ruritan National.
Survivors include one daughter: Kellie Keicher Pruitt; one grandson and his wife: Dylan and Allison Pruitt; one granddaughter: Kayla Pruitt and Daniel Wilhoit; great-grandson: Preston Pruitt; three stepdaughters: Karen (Gary) Lowe, Barbara (Don) Denney, and Sandra (Rick) Finkle; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years: Jack D. Keicher on November 28, 2017; one daughter: Kimberly Shae Keicher on October 8, 1979; her parents: Monnie and Bert C. McDaniel, Sr.; two brothers: Bert C. McDaniel Jr., and Kenneth McDaniel; one sister: Margaret Bellamy.
The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 4 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19th, at Bibles Chapel Baptist Church. The Rev. Donnie Bible will officiate. Interment will follow in Sinking Springs Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church to lie state thirty minutes before the service.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Gragg, Tony McLean, Tony Bible, Casey Brooks, Ronnie Parson, and Jay Guinn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Brannon, Bobby Carter, A.J. Smith, Darwin Lamb, Rick Bible, Dennie Bible, and Wayne Hybarger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kim Keicher Memorial Library at Bibles Chapel Baptist Church, 1280 Bibles Chapel Road, Midway, TN 37809.
