Larry Fortner, 66, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a member of Oak Dale Union Church as long as his health permitted.
He retired from John Deere Power Products.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Brenda Fortner; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Brad Fortner, and Joshua and Valerie Fortner: a daughter: Faith Fortner; grandchildren: Gage Fortner, Sadie Fortner, Brayden McInturff, Brylee McInturff, Katie McInturff, Avery Lane, and Cameron Lane; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Jeff and Belinda Fortner, and Randy Fortner; a sister: Shirley Wilcox; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Callaway and Jane Pitt, and Dr. Benjamin Whitfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Jo Fortner; a brother: Dave Fortner; sisters: Teresa Everette, Brenda Collins, and Linda Parton; and a brother-in-law: Gene Wilcox.
The family expresses a special thank you to the Drs and staff at Holston Valley Medical Center and Greeneville Community Hospital East, and Dr. Daniel Lewis.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in Jeffers Downtown Chapel with the Rev. Tyler Dalton officiating.
The graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The family will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Joshua Fortner, Brad Fortner, Brian Parton, Gage Fortner, Allen Witt, and Nicholas Witt.
