Patsy D. Haney, 71, of the Sunnyside community, passed away Friday at her home, after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by her family and friends.
Patsy was an Licensed Practical Nurse at the original Laughlin Memorial hospital, before retiring to become a full-time homemaker and caregiver.
She was a devoted member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, as long as her mother's health permitted.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 46 years: Bill Haney; her mother: Lucille Jordan; Charlie Brown and Sam Hensley, who she thought of as her children; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Bob Haney and Brenda Brown; special cousins: Sandra Ricker, Elizabeth Murray, and Judy Payne; several other cousins, nieces and nephews; and special neighbors and caregivers: Melvin and Betty Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Clarence Jordan; her grandparents: H.B and Lacey House, and Billie and Ruth Bales; and a special aunt: Francis Bales
The family expresses a special thank you to the nurses and staff with Amedisys Hospice and Mt. Carmel UMC.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in River Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Martha Beamer and Pastor Dustin Debord officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Melvin Harrison, Michael Morelock, Sam Hensley, Al Gourley, Jeremey Haney, Chad house, Jesse House and Gary Renfro.
Kent Myers will be an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, c/o Vana Morelock, 445 Cicero Ave., Greeneville, TN 37743.
