Peggy Campbell Obituary
Died: September 4, 2025
Peggy Gray Campbell, 85, of Morristown, passed away Thursday suddenly at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.
She was a devoted wife, sister, and was a true "Mother and Grandmother in Spirit" to her entire family. Strong in her faith and a lifelong Methodist, she faithfully served in ministry alongside her husband, the Rev. S. Lee Campbell, until his passing in 2018.
By vocation, Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for several years at Life Care Center. She later retired to devote herself to caring for her husband.
Known for her compassion and concern for others, she carried that same devotion into her home life, where she loved and supported her extended family.
She especially treasured her nieces and nephews, delighting in their lives and sharing their joys with others.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband: the Rev. Lee Campbell; her parents: James Scott and Nelle (Hutton) Gray; a sister: Joan Carter; and a brother-in-law: Jack Goodman.
Peggy is survived by sisters: Shirley (Michael) Luttrell and Carolyn Goodman; a sister-in-law: Ernestine Renfro; nephews: Robert (Jennifer) Keller and Richard (Latasha) Keller; a niece: Teresa (Tim) Byrd; great-nephews: Sterling Keller and Stafford Keller; and great-nieces: Kambell Keller, Kennedy Keller, and Stella Rose Keller.
Peggy's legacy is one of faith, service, and love - cherished by all who knew her and remembered for her kind heart and gentle spirit.
Family and friends may gather for her graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday in Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
