Ronald William Lamb, age 73, of Chuckey, passed away Monday morning at his home.
He was a retired truck driver from Wal Mart Distribution Center and a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.
He served in the United States Army, he enjoyed the mountains, gardening, and farming.
Survivors include his wife: Sandy Lamb; children and their spouses: Jason and Jenny Lamb, James and Brandy Lamb, Ronda and Jonathan Hofer; two stepdaughters: Amy Thompson and Randy Schreur, Katie and Jordon Sanders; grandchildren: Neveah (Kevin) Roberts, Mallory Lamb, Dylan Lamb, Emory Lamb, Kylie Chapman, Rosalyn Sanders, Adalee Sanders, and Carson Sanders; great-grandchildren: Oakleigh Roberts, Brantley Roberts, Grayson Roberts, Wesley Roberts, and Chloe Roberts; three sisters: Judy Lamb (Darrell) Freeman, Sharon Lamb (Boots) Penley, Vickie Lamb (Mike); one brother: James (Debbie) Lamb; nieces and nephews: Lisa (Kelly) Witherspoon, Tonya (Kevin) Broyles, Amy Lamb, and Sam Witherspoon; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Judy Bailey Lamb; son: Ronald Jeffery Lamb; grandson: Kaiden Chapman; parents: Floyd W. Lamb Sr. and Bonnie Waddle Lamb; brother: Spec. 4 Floyd W. "Jason" Lamb, Jr.; grandparents: Rufus and Fannie Lamb, N.B. and Allie Waddle.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow visitation in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Clark and the Rev. Lenny Smith officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 10 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to Liberty Cemetery (South Central Community) for the 11 a.m. committal service.
Active pallbearers will be Carroll Fender, Eddie Hunter, Lester Hensley, Wilburn Banner, Tim Banner, and Joe Parsons. Ralph Gillespie will be an honorary pallbearer.
