ADAM JAY PURGASON MADISON Adam Jay Purgason, 20, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will follow at a later time. Adam was born June 18, 1993, in Rockingham County, to Gary "Buck" Purgason and Mary "Sissy" Carter. He was an employee of Midtown Furniture, a 2011 graduate of Rockingham County High School, attended Rockingham Community College with a concentration in accounting. He loved sports, with a focus on wrestling, and was an All-Conference Wrestler. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Ozelma Purgason and step-grandfather, Jackie Shelton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother, Gary Daniel Purgason and fianc?, Samantha Sartin; sister, Mattie Elizabeth Purgason; grandfather, Ray Carter; grandmother, Mary Shelton; great-grandmother, Carrie Vaughan and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m., Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at 140 Poppy Road, Madison.
