GREENSBORO ANNABELL MAGETTI SIMPSON, 81, WENT TO be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 12, 2015 after a period of declining health. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Timlin officiating.Annabell was born on October 16, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Guy and Kathryn Magetti. Annabell attended Julienne High School and Sinclair College in Dayton. After spending some twenty years in the hospitality management field, Annabell devoted the rest of her life to her church and family, especially her granddaughters Laura and Anna. A devoted Catholic, she spent much of her time and talents to a variety of volunteer activities including teaching CCD at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, working at St. Mary's Pantry, participating in NC Right to Life, Room at the Inn, OLG Book Fair, and leadership positions with the Girl Scouts of America, plus serving on various other church boards and committees. Her favorite hobbies were singing and acting and over the years was a member of several church choirs as well as a volunteer for the City Arts Drama Center.In addition to her parents Annabell was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lynn Simpson; and sisters, Marna Uva and Marilyn Gavin.She is survived by husband of 58 years, Bill Simpson; daughter and son-in-law, Roslyn and William Peterson of Greensboro, NC, her two granddaughters, Laura and Anna Peterson of Greensboro, NC. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.The family wishes to thank caregivers at Moses Cone Hospital and Comfort Keepers for their continuous support.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Miracles at Work Animal Rescue, Gail Gentry, 270 Bernice Drive, Stokesdale, NC, 27357.Online condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel is assisting the family.
