Barry Pruette Obituary

Greensboro – Barry Lee Pruette, 65, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Born April 17, 1960, in Newport News, VA, Barry was the son of Dana Wilkins Pruette and the late Dean Mac Pruette. He graduated from Menchville High School and held a variety of jobs throughout his life. Barry was a devoted fan of the Carolina Hurricanes, NC State Wolfpack and the Baltimore Orioles and loved attending sporting events.

In honor of Barry's love for sports, those attending the service are invited to wear NC State, Carolina Hurricanes, Baltimore Orioles, or red and white attire.

Barry is survived by his mother, Dana Pruette; brother, Brian Pruette (Sherry) of Sanford; nephew, Even Pruette; uncles, David Pruette (Eugenia) and Bill Peters; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Floral Garden Park Cemetery, with Reverend John Bishop officiating. The family will greet friends briefly after the service.
