Peeples, Betty Sumner

September 24, 1934 - March 28, 2024

Mrs. Betty Sumner Peeples, 89, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel with Pastor Ryan Crowder and Pastor Joe Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Peeples; parents, "Coy" and Annie Mae Sumner; and sister, Judy Strickland.

She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Chapel and had retired from Southern Webbing Mills, Inc.

Mrs. Peeples is survived by her son, Timothy Peeples (Tammie); son, Greg Peeples; granddaughter, Cheyanne; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Xander, and Xane; brother, Leroy Sumner (Brenda); sister, Brenda Kinney (Astor); and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom she loved.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Chapel 5515 N. Church St. Greensboro, NC 27455.

My thoughts and prayers for the family . I´ve known Betty for many years and it has been my pleasure to greet and know such a lovely lady who loved the Lord and the church. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
