EDEN Beverly Burton Goldston died at her home in Eden on Sunday, February 21. She was the wife of William D. Goldston, Jr. to whom she had been married for 69 years. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, February 25 at 11:00 am at the Leaksville United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend A. C. Brock. The private burial will be held preceding the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, for family and close friends.Bev was a native of High Point, one of three daughters born to Lillian and William Burton. She attended High Point Central High School and High Point University. She and Bill had an active life as they travelled the world. When Bill served in the North Carolina Senate, Bev served as president of the Sir Walter Cabinet, an organization comprised of female legislators and wives of legislators. She was active in the community. She held many leadership positions in the Leaksville United Methodist Church and Town and Country Garden Club. She served on the Rockingham County Hospice Board, and was honorary co-chair of the Morehead Memorial Hospital Capital Campaign in 2004. Bev is survived by her husband, Bill; her sisters, Marty Hester and her husband Erwin, and Barbara Levina and her husband O.B. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Richard Wesley Goldston and William David Goldston III.
