STOKESDALE Beverly Jean Lufkin Halsdorf, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Moses Cone Hospital. A native of Cambridge, NY, Beverly was born on March 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Roland E. and Dorothy Dunbar Lufkin. She was employed as a bookkeeper at GasTown for 14 years and then worked as hostess at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store before retiring with 22 years' service. She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Halsdorf, a Pearl Harbor survivor, and maintained a lifetime membership in the Boyd Hilton VFW Post 7062, Ladies Auxiliary, in Altamont, NY. She especially enjoyed attending shows at the Barn Dinner Theatre. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Halsdorf, grandson David Terrell, and granddaughter Rebecca England. Surviving are children Beverly Moore of NC, William G. Halsdorf, Jr. of Latham, NY, Bruce Halsdorf (Wendy) of Altamont, NY, Marguerita England (fiancé Mike Michaux) of Stokesdale, Marge Abdella (Jeff Carrow) of Rotterdam, NY, and Nancy Avoli (Jeremy) of Harwick, PA; sister Linda Tyler (Tim) of Greenwich, NY; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and special friends Linda and Randy Tyson, Donna Norwood, Linda Carter, and Eddie and Sonya Pegram; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 29, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Stokesdale. Beverly will be buried in the Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY, alongside her husband, on Friday.
