Charlotte Lorraine Wilkerson

GREENSBORO Charlotte Lorraine Wilkerson, 84, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Wesley Long Hospital.Lorraine was born on January 28, 1932 in Covington, VA, the daughter of Fred and Allie Smith Hoke. She placed her family first and always looked forward to time she could spend with them. She loved to plan any holiday or special occasion and have the family gather together. She enjoyed quilting and knitting, and would never turn down the chance to work a jigsaw puzzle. Lorraine joined Lindley Park Baptist Church shortly after moving here with her family, and remained a member for over fifty years. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.Lorraine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lee Wilkerson, in 2013; one sister and three brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ruby Johnson (Gordon) of Stokesdale; sons, Michael Wilkerson (Debbie) of Greensboro, and Bentley Wilkerson (Beverly Echerd) of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Samantha Wilkerson, Eric Wilkerson, Karen Coughlin (Nick); great-grandchildren, Jacob and Maiya Couglin.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Lindley Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church . Burial will be private on Sunday.
