Cheryl Hanks Obituary

HENDERSON Cheryl Bobbitt Hanks, 66, of 42 White Deer Lane, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at her home. Born in Vance County on July 25, 1952, she was the daughter of Louise Choplin B. Parham of Henderson and the late Johnny Bert Bobbitt. Cheryl was a retired registered nurse having worked for the state of North Carolina. She enjoyed living on Kerr Lake and going to Myrtle Beach with her family. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church where a memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. by Rev. Carol Dean and Rev. Robin Farner. In addition to her mother, Cheryl is survived by her husband, Jerry Stephen Hanks of the home; three sons, Chris Fisher (Scarlette) of Henderson, Adrian Fisher (Kathryn) of Hickory, and Cory Smith (Brittney) of Las Vegas, NV; her step-father, Charles Parham of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Hayley Fisher, Anna Fisher, Joshua Fisher, Hunter Fisher, Mason Fisher, Taylor Fisher, and Logan Smith; two sisters, Dianne B. Walker (Bob), and Robin Parham, both of Henderson; a step-sister, Sharon Parham Reese of Henderson; two step-brothers, Dr. Darrin Moore of Whiteville and Keith Parham of Greenville; a niece, Stephanie Walker of Henderson; and a brother-in-law, Michael Hanks of Oxford. The family will receive friends following the service today at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coats for the Children, P.O. Box 12000, Raleigh, NC 27605 or the American Heart Association, 3131 RDU Center Drive, Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560. Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
