Darryl McEachern Obituary
March 28, 1956 - February 4, 2023
Darryl Jerome McEachern passed away on February 4, 2023, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. He did not lose the fight; he stepped out of that worn out body and moved to the ultimate place of peace and rest: into the arms of Jesus.
Darryl was a graduate of Walter Hines Page High School where he played on the pirates basketball team. Standing tall at 6'7 he was absolutely unstoppable at the Center position, however upon graduation he decided to forego offers to play college ball as his heart was firmly set on the military. He served in the U.S. Army.
Darryl was predeceased by his brother, Paul Walker, Jr.; and sister, Robin Ann Walker. His memories will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Cheryl Daniels Green (Jordan), Greensboro, NC, Ashley McEachern, Greensboro, NC; his mother, Thelma McEachern Walker, Greensboro, NC; sisters, Vickie L. Walker, Inglewood, CA, Linda Walker Ward (LaShaun), High Point, NC, Dyane Walker Barrientos (Carlos), Charlotte NC; a very special cousin-brother, Gregory A. Johnson, Greensboro, NC; and granddaughters, Amy Bell Green and Delaney Green.
A service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., with family visitation at 11:00 a.m., at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel.
