David Mann, 45, passed away peacefully in his sleep due to an underlying heart condition on Sunday, October 30, 2022, and is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
David was born on February 17, 1977, in Charlotte, NC. David was a caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and tap teacher.
David was preceded in death by his dad, Michael Mann. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sydney Lee Mann; and leaves behind 5 children, Aubrey Mann (13), Declan Mann (10), Ryker Mann (6), Presley Mann (19 months) and baby on the way, expected to arrive in June 2023. He is also survived by his mom, Paula Mann; his sister, Stephanie Kennedy (Steve); his brother, Justin Mann (Dawn), and a large extended family and friends.
David was a follower of Jesus and a faithful member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. He especially loved spending time with his family. His wife and children were the love of his life. He loved traveling, music, CrossFit, the New York Yankees, and the Carolina Panthers.
David spent his life creating a lasting impact on the dance community in various aspects. David not only taught and raised dancers who went on to have successful careers in the professional industry, but he also had a successful career. David was a performer, choreographer, and entrepreneur. He spanned the globe doing what he loved!
From his innovative tap choreography that he set around the country to his time spent working as a director at Applause Talent & teaching for various dance conventions, he never stopped finding ways to help better the dance community as a whole. He even started his own production company to better the competitive dance community from behind the scenes. David recently became a founding member of the new dance competition Endless Talent and most recently taught at the convention this past month.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church (4800 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410). A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, also at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, with Dr. Daniel Dickard officiating. A private burial will follow with family and close friends.
