Deborah Andrews Obituary

Andrews, Deborah Ann Ross

September 19, 1948 - February 12, 2023

Gibsonville, NC – Mrs. Deborah Ross "Nana" Andrews, 74, of Gibsonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Johnson Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Morgan and Pastor Willie Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was a faithful servant in the Lord's service as a pastor's wife, helping those in need, whether physically or spiritually, and her life was an example to her family and church family. She brought joy to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "Nana" Deborah was born September 19, 1948, in Raleigh, NC, to William Van Ross and Sally Ferguson Ross. Deborah's first job as a paralegal for Sapp & Sapp Attorney at Law opened the door for employment for the State of North Carolina as a correctional officer at the McLeansville Prison. After many years of service to the state, Deborah discovered her true passion for medicine and chose to pursue a career in nursing. After earning her degree, she began her career at Moses H. Cone Hospital; though most of her nursing years were spent working in substance abuse at Fellowship Hall. After retirement she continued to service her community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and performing house calls for the sick and afflicted.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Renae Andrews.

Mrs. Andrews is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Rev. Larry Andrews; son, Rick Andrews; daughter, Kim Chambers (Mike); grandchildren, Brooke (Timothy), Amanda (Devin), Kaitlyn (Noah), Kaileigh, Jacob (Brooklyn), Josh; great-grandchildren, Haevan, Silas and Aaron; and brother, Tim Ross (Debbie).

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.

The Davenport family is absolutely devastated to hear of Deborahs passing. She was one of the kindest, most gentle human beings on this earth. She always referenced my grandmother as "aunt Peggy", as my grandmother reminded Deborah of her beloved aunt Peggy. I know the gates of heaven and angels are ecstatic to have Deborah join them ! Sending lots of love and prayers to the Andrews family.

Larry, so sad to hear of Debbie's passing. It's been 50 plus years since our USMCR days, but Vonda and I still remember the good times we had with Betty and Austin and Debbie and you. I know she will be greatly missed, and a void in your and the kids heart that can never be filled. Our prayers for comfort and compassion for you and all of the family.
