Doris Clapp Obituary

WALNUT COVE Doris Esterline Adams Clapp, 88, went home to be with her Lord Sunday morning, November 18, 2018, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Doris was born on November 2, 1930, in Guilford County to the late Poley and Stella Billings Adams. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. As the wife of a preacher, she served faithfully with her husband in Burlington, Lexington, Greensboro, and surrounding areas. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Rosser Lee Clapp; grandson, Brian Clapp; three brothers, Robert T. Adams, William A. Adams, and Thomas Eldon Adams; and her two sisters, Ethel A. Brady and Nancy Belle Adams. Doris is survived by her two sons, Christopher Lee Clapp (Vicky) and David Anthony Clapp; two grandchildren, Phillip Clapp and Stacy Clapp; and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a 1 p.m. graveside service held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Apple's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Ashburn officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
