GREENSBORO EDWIN EDDIE HARRISON MEADE, JR., 49, passed away Sunday, September 20th, 2015 at his home after a year-long battle with Thymic Carcinoma.Eddie was born on Sunday, March 6th, 1966 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of Edwin Harrison and Betty Tucker Meade, Sr. He moved to Greensboro at age one.He was preceded in death by grandparents Herbert W. and Annie Mae Huffling Meade, Mary Elizabeth Wray Tucker and Edgar Davis Kuykendall, Jr., and Raleigh White Tucker; and Uncles Larry W. Tucker and David L. Tucker. He was baptized by Dr. A. L. Parker at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church (formerly Asheboro Street Baptist Church) and was a 4th generation member.He was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School and North Carolina State University where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Zoology and also studied Physiology. In addition to being an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow member, he was employed by the National Institute of Health in Raleigh and Wyeth Ayerst Pharmaceuticals in pharmaceutical research, as well as Duke University in ophthalmology and pathology research.Eddie is survived by his parents, beloved sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" and Michael J. King, niece and nephew Annabella "Bella" J. and Nicholas "Cole" J. King, and Uncle and Aunt H. F. "Skipper" and Janice Meade. He is also survived by Faith Wilson, fianc? and faithful warrior in the battle, and long-time friends Ronnie Leatherman, David Hayworth, and Steve Prue.At a later time private celebrations will be held at Guilford Memorial Park and in the Black Hills of South Dakota.Special thanks from the family to Duke University Cancer Center, Dr. Neal E.
