Eleanor Bracker-Weerts Obituary
August 14, 1936 - April 24, 2022
Eleanor "Jane" Bracker-Weerts died on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Twin Lakes Memory Care facility in Burlington. She was born August 14, 1936 in Moss, TN to Gurvis and Delsia Smith, and died on the same day her oldest daughter Cindy was born. A retired nurse, she spent most of her career at Wesley Long Community Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse.
Jane is survived by her husband, Gary Weerts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marci & Steve Fisher and Lora & Dean McPhail; three grandchildren and their spouses, Luke & Caroline Miles, Chelsea & Justin Nuzum and Rheagan & Adam Trevillian; and four great-granddaughters. Also surviving are three brothers and their wives, Doug & Gloria Smith, Chuck & Judy Smith, and Lee & Debbie Smith. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Bracker and her husband, Dale Bracker.
Jane loved to travel & was proud of the fact that she had visited all 50 states, in addition to numerous countries. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, solving Sudoku puzzles, and playing cards and Mahjong with friends.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday May 1, 2022 at First Christian Church, 1900 W. Market Street, Greensboro, NC. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Jane requests that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Home Society of NC, Attn: Accounting, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Jane. I worked with her at Call For Action, WFMY-TV, where she helped many people solve their consumer complaints. Call For Action and I send condolences to Gary and her family.

I remember the beautiful sweaters she knitted
