Eleanor Wall Obituary

HIGH POINT Eleanor Garrett Wall, 89, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. Born April 19, 1927 in High Point, she is a daughter of the late Cecil Clark Garrett and Leola Scott Garrett. Mrs. Wall graduated from Randolph Macon Women's College (Lynchburg) in 1948. She was a member of the High Point Junior League and Weed and Win Garden Club. Next to family, she treasured most studying and serving in bible study fellowship and the friendships she made there and at the Hartley "Y" exercise classes. Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson Wall, on February 28, 2012.She is survived by three sons; John Anderson Wall, Jr. and wife Ollie of High Point, David Garrett Wall and wife Terri of Elizabethtown, NC and Newton Madison Wall, II and wife Denise of Burlington. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amy R. Rich, David G. Wall, Jr. and wife Erin, Andrew B. Wall and wife Catie, Caroline M. Wall, Richard C. Walter, and eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of High Point with the Reverend Dr. Ken Broman-Fulks officiating. The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262, or to the First Presbyterian Church of High Point, 918 North Main Street, High Point, NC 27260.
