Emma Ritter Obituary
August 8, 1933 - June 9, 2025
Emma Dell Campbell Johnson Ritter, of High Point, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 91.
"Dell" was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Annie Petty Campbell and Alonzo Bangs Campbell; husband, Archie Ritter; sister and brother-in-law, Audrey Campbell Oldham and Edward Chapin Oldham; sister, Virginia Mildred Campbell; and daughter, Carlotta Renee' Johnson; and granddaughter, Carly Logan Griffin, who is surely with her now.
Dell is survived by her two children, Keith Johnson and wife, Melanie and Carla Johnson Griffin and husband, Kirk. Dell is survived by three grandchildren who know her as "Omaw", Cody Spence Griffin and his wife, Katie, Ashley Evary Johnson and Andy Mitchell Johnson; and her first husband, Carlton R. Johnson. And friends who were family also, John A. Wall Jr. and wife, Ollie, Randy Jones and wife, Susan and Vickie Winslow. And her sweet dog, Toby "Boomer".
Dell had a quick wit, a love for NC barbecue, yellow cake with chocolate icing and an unceasing care and concern for those close to her. Even as she aged and her kids and grandkids grew up, the first things she would ask would often be "are you okay" and "do you need anything". A champion in your corner all her life. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Dell's life will be held at a future date TBD.
