Hooker Van Deusen Obituary
October 21, 1953 - March 21, 2024
Hooker Doolittle Van Deusen, born on October 21, 1953, in Fayetteville, NC, peacefully passed away when his essence joined his spirit on March 21, 2024, in Greensboro, NC.
Hooker was a talented artist, excelling in sculpting pottery and painting. His creative spirit and passion for art enriched the lives of those around him. A world traveler at heart, Hooker never met a stranger and effortlessly made friends wherever his adventures took him.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Edwin and Natasha Van Deusen, and his niece Melanie Van Deusen.
Hooker is survived by his devoted brother Edwin Van Deusen (Laurel) and nephew Russell Van Deusen.
A Celebration of Life honoring Hooker's memory will be held at a later date in Oak Island, NC. May his artistic legacy and warm spirit continue to inspire all who knew him.

Think of dear Hooker almost every day this time of year for it was winter 2012 we produced AT LEAST 100 lbs. of mulch. He clipped the bushes and delivered to the back stump where I wielded the machete reducing them to 2" lengths which he spread among the front beds. We made a good team. Especially after the the scrapple or apple pie mit Cheddar breakfasts. Hannah supervised.

I was in school with Hooker at UNC-G during the 1995-1996 academic year when we were both taking education courses there. I remember him distinctly as a caring and curious person, and I always looked forward to seeing him in class. I am thinking of his brother and family during this time.
