Thomas Bailey

1931 - 2026

Thomas J. Bailey was born on October 12, 1931 and died on February 8, 2026 at his home following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Mariah W. and Mr. Curtis E. Bailey, his four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Ruth Bailey Bundridge, Ms. Agnes L. Bailey, Mrs. Christine Bailey Whitley and Mrs. Marie Bailey Morris, and three brothers, Mr. Carud Bailey, Mr. Curtis Bailey, Jr. and Mr. William Bailey.

Thomas graduated from Dudley Senior High School, class of 1949. He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 1953, where he majored in Auto Mechanics. He was a devoted son to his parents and spent most of his time caring for them with heartfelt love and devotion. He worked at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, (UNCG) for over 25 years as a maintenance worker where he was revered as a dedicated member of the UNCG staff. Thomas was also a self-employed Tracker Trailer Owner/Operator. He enjoyed repairing cars and riding his prized motorcycles when time permitted. Thomas was a member of the United Institutional Baptist Church on 802 E. Market Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he attended for many years, with his family.

Thomas was a very caring and loving family member who will be dearly missed by family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, a host of family and friends, nieces and nephews. Thomas is buried at Maple Wood Cemetery along with his family. He is the last sibling/family member of a beloved line of the Bailey family, who are all loved and dearly missed.
