GREENSBORO James Thomas Heldreth, III passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in his Greensboro apartment. An English teacher, organist, feral cat rescuer, and Tiki culture enthusiast, Tom spent his life helping others. He studied English education at UNCG and food science at N.C. State. A graduate of Western Guilford High School, Tom maintained many of the friendships that he made in high school throughout his life. Tom is survived by his brother, John Heldreth. He is preceded in death by his parents, James T. Heldreth, Jr. and Dorothy Ciccarello Heldreth, both of Greensboro. There will be a memorial service at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Wednesday, February 28, at 11 a.m., with a visitation afterward in the church banquet hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc.
