WALNUT COVE James Conroy Kehl, 77, of Walnut Ridge Assisted Living Facility, passed away on September 30, 2018. He was born in Utica, NY on April 28, 1941, the son of Vincent and Lillian (Conroy) Kehl. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Gail Mauritz Kehl, and his parents. He is survived by his children: Tracy Kehl Jones (Thomas W. Jones, Jr.) and David M. Kehl (Jerrie Hatcher-Kehl); granddaughters, Amber C. Jones, Courtney T. Jones, and Charlotte T. Kehl, all of NC; a sister, Suzann Hoke of NY; two brothers, Michael J. Kehl of FL and John P. Kehl of NY. Jim served in the US Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. He worked for and retired from National Cash Register. He enjoyed cooking, creating art, and travel. Jim was truly an original thinker and will not soon be forgotten by those of us who loved him. As he wished, there will be no calling hours. Friends who wish may donate to the charity of their choice.
