Margaret Paratory Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Paratory died peacefully at her home in Oak Ridge on Friday, May 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was born May 29, 1948, in Albany, NY, to the late James and Yvette Deagan amid three sisters, Jacqueline, Mary Ellen, and the late Patricia. After graduating with honors from St. Joseph's Academy, Peggy met the love of her life, Vincent Paratory, and the two commenced a journey together which would span 53 years.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, Vincent; and their children, Pamela Bennett, Maria Henson, Kathleen McCall, Jennifer Paratory, Tess Kelly, and Joseph Paratory. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Luke, Olivia, and Claire Bennett; Jacob and Joshua Henson, Gabe Hooks and Ava McCall; Lucy and Sophia Paratory.
Peggy dedicated her life to her family. A talented craftswoman, she tailored countless Halloween and school-play costumes, knitted blankets, sewed quilts, cooked holiday dinners and baked sweet treats for her children and grandchildren. She shared blissful summer days in the Outer Banks with her family and adventured throughout Europe with her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Christopher Brock officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Donations in Peggy's memory can be made to Crisis Control Food Ministry www.crisiscontrol.org, whose mission is to ensure North Carolina residents always have enough food for their families, and Hospice of the Piedmont www.hospiceofthepiedmont.org, who provide endless comfort to those that need it.
