Sparrow, Margaret Annie Lewis

Margaret Annie Lewis Sparrow, 90, of Whitestone Independent Living, died August 5, 2021 surrounded by family, following a long decline.
She was born in Greensboro, the only child of Hazel Rawlins Lewis and William Thomas Lewis. She attended Greensboro High School and UNCG Woman's College, where she received a degree in primary education and served as president of the Town Students in her senior year. Margaret married Charles M. Sparrow and had three children. Later she got her real estate license and worked for Lambeth Osborne Realty until she retired. Margaret lived most of her life in Greensboro. She enjoyed the outdoors, birdwatching, gardening, bridge club, reading, pottery and traveling with family and friends. She especially enjoyed annual trips to Sanibel Island, FL, Ocean Isle Beach and Blowing Rock.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia "Gail" Sparrow Ludwig (Bill Ludwig, deceased), Betty Lee Sparrow (Alan Salmon), Tracy Ann Sparrow Hines (Cary Hines), and her grandchildren, Seth Salmon, Nathan Salmon, Lauren Ludwig, Paige Hines and Abby Hines Damrel and their families. The family would like to give special thanks to her loving caregivers Joyce Jones, Suzanne Bowman and Shirley Allen, and to Authoracare hospice for their devoted care. Arrangements are being made by Forbis & Dick. There will be a graveside service at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd. in Greensboro on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
