Martha Bush Galvin died on July 28,2021 peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was continuously surrounded by her family and closest friends during her very personal journey.

Martha is survived by her husband, David Garriques, of the home; her sister, Barbara Jean (Bush) Clifford; her daughter Debbie Galvin Emmert, husband Michael; her son John Galvin, wife Brook; grandchildren Olivia Emmert, Cameron Emmert, Lane Galvin, and Riley Galvin.

Martha was born in Southampton, New York on September 5th, 1940, to Frederic Fernley Bush and Marjorie Jean McCartney.

Martha named Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and actively attended Westover Church. Martha was grateful to be called a friend of Bill W, and a member in good standing in the fellowship of AA. She spent a good deal of her life involved in working with others to find the peace and serenity which comes from living a sober, useful life. Martha had a special love for shagging and beach music. She enjoyed a rewarding career as a Real Estate Appraiser for more than 25 years. Her last position prior to retirement was with Taylor and Associates Appraisers, Inc.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving woman who gave freely of her time to help others.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled on Sunday, August 8th at 2:00 pm, at Westover Church, 505 Muirs Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC. A reception will follow immediately in the Activity Center. Pastor Matt Burkett will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Martha's life.
