Meggan Isaac Obituary

Meggan Bethany Isaac

January 25, 1972 - August 13, 2024

Meggan passed peacefully with her mom and stepfather by her side at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Meggan was born in Indianapolis, IN to John Allan Isaac (deceased) and Margaret "Meg" Isaac on January 25, 1972. She grew up in Indiana, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, and Greensboro, NC. She graduated in 1990 from Page High School in Greensboro, where she was the school band's first female Drum Major in her senior year. She was awarded a music scholarship to Western Washington University, but chose instead to undertake music as a performing art. A talented song writer, she formed a band that played engagements at local venues. She produced and recorded a series of albums.

Meggan discovered her life's work in the visual art of creating leaded and stained-glass. After learning the techniques at a local company, she established her own business, Snapdragon Glass Studios, which was active in Stowe, Vermont; Greensboro; and Ambia, Indiana. She specialized in design and fabrication of traditional and modern leaded glass windows and hangings as well as fused-glass ornaments, jewelry, and accessories. Her commissions included design and creation of windows, side lights, and sky lights for residential and church clients as well as repair and restoration of antique church stained-glass windows. Her works were offered in many galleries across the country.

She had to reduce her glass work due to a serious injury, and became certified to provide home health care, particularly for the elderly for whom she always had a special place in her heart. This choice was consistent with her deeply ingrained ethic of caring for others.

That guiding force was reflected in her artistic vision and creativity. Her mantra was that the eyes are the window to the soul and that beautiful glass creations uplifted the heart and spirit. She loved music, writing, poetry, world travel, and the joy of a simple life.

She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Margaret "Meg" Sternberg; her stepfather, Ben Sternberg, Jr.; her brother, Bradley Allan Isaac and wife, Kimberley; nephew, Bradley Alexander "Alex" Isaac; niece, Clarissa Nicole Isaac, all of Greensboro; and stepsisters, Jennifer Crossland Adams of Daytona Beach, FL and Nancy Ben Bowman, of Winston-Salem, NC.

The world has lost a beautiful soul.

As we all travel through 0ur journey of life we all have many twists and turns in our travels. Its called life. Meggan had many life's adventures and many stories to tell. She always lived her life on her own terms never needing to live what other people felt was the perfect template. This was one of the many ways that made her special. She will be greatly missed for the laughter and conversations we would share. I will also miss the rum cakes she would share with us at Christmas time. I will miss so many things about Meggan that cannot be shared in a short time. We will always have her in our thoughts.
