PLEASANT GARDEN MILDRED M. GEORGE, 93, WENT HOME to be with her Savior on Thursday, January 22, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Sunday January 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Forbis and Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. She was born in Coalwood, WV to the late Samuel and Ada Arrington. Mildred was a retired employee of Lorillard with 24 years of service and a member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church.She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert George, and her son-in-law, David.She is survived by a son Bob (Cherie) George of Julian, a daughter, Sharon, of Greensboro, a sister, Louise (Bernie) Simmons of Greensboro, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.She was faithful and generous and she always put others first. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be missed.The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3 p.m. at Forbis and Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel. Flowers are accepted and memorials may be made to Vandalia Presbyterian Church, 101 West Vandalia Road.
