May 15, 1926 - October 11, 2022
Nadine Tilley Atkinson, 96, of Eden, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Jacob's Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Madison, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC, with burial to follow at Ridgeview Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
Nadine was born May 15, 1926, in Leaksville, NC, to the late Warford N. Tilley and Lessie Wray Tilley. She worked as a lab technician for Fieldcrest until her retirement after 26 years. Nadine was a member of First Baptist Church for many years, where she was active in WMU, Women's Circle, and Sunday School. She loved to play bridge and was an active member of Eden Women's Club. Nadine enjoyed spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jan Jones (Norfleet) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Steven Atkinson (Alicia) of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Robert Glenn Ogburn, III, (Jennifer), Kathryn Nadine Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Ogburn, Tyler Elaine Ogburn, Miller Joshua Balogh.
In addition to her parents, Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Atkinson, Jr; son Walter G. "Tripp" Atkinson, III; sister, Elaine Walters; brother, Maynard Tilley.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tammy Jawaid, Dianne Dyson, Debbie Kallam, and Mary Miller, for their care and compassion.
