STOKESDALE NANCY CAROLYN TATE PARRISH, 73, PASSED away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Moses Cone Hospital.Mrs. Parrish's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel with Rev. Jerry Walker presiding. Burial will follow in the Oak Level Baptist Church Cemetery.A native of Rockingham County Nancy was born on March 4, 1942, the daughter of the late William and Mary Young Tate. Nancy was a person who took life by the horns in any situation. She opened her heart and home and loved so many. She especially loved children- her own, and everyone else's. Many childrens' lives were touched over the thirty years she cared for children at Jerry's Day Care.She was a beautiful mother, wife, sister, grandmother and best friend to a lot of people. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed people, her books, catching a yard sale, and taking care of her home, garden and yard. She was a simple southern lady, but accomplished many things.Surviving are her children Timmy Spencer and his wife Terry of Graham; Jeff Spencer and his wife Debbie of Browns Summit; Tonya Cook of Stokesdale; Tammy Beemer, Vickie Everett, and Jody Sizemore all of Stokesdale; sisters Nina Oxendine of Reidsville; Frances Evans of Pelham; Margaret Southard of Reidsville; brother John Tate of Reidsville; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Parrish and sisters Mozella Palmer, Lucille Walker, Osten Hundley, and Barbara Forner.The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and other times at Nancy's home.On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.
